This topic is simple really.
Each major carrier is now in a battle royale to drive sales and bring in new customers and possibly make existing customers happeir by pushing out the much anticipated 4G LTE on each of thier networks. What does this mean to the everyday user who has an LTE enabled device? Simply put they can access the information from their facebook app a lot quicker.
So who is in the lead you ask, well for those of you who refuse or lack the desire to research this information I guess I will be kind enough to let you know this incredible secret and its content.
Right now the ranking is this.
In first we have Verizon, why is that? SIMPLE! They want to be the best and deliver better service to their customers, but the biggest reason is money. Money is the reason why you now see the shared data plans and the crazy costs associated with them. here is a nice little secret......ready? AT&T IS ALSO PUSHING OUT SHARED DATA PLANS. sorry to burst your bubble, also give it some time and Sprint might follow suit.
In second, which should really belong to AT&T and Sprint because they are both slow to the game. For now I will focus on AT&T. Ok so lets believe for a minute that you look at your phone with AT&T and see the 4G logo near your radio indicator and believe you have LTE to your phone. Well if you live in select markets in California this is the truth, but anywhere else your service is simply HDPSA+ a.k.a 3G plus or 3.5G. This is called false advertisement I believe. Congrats with your 47 markets AT&T, but I will say this in defense to them. They are providing a better data connectivity than the next provider I am going to pick on, so this leads me to my next question. WHY WIMAX!?
Sprint..........your recent announcement to finally push out 4G LTE to less than 15 markets this week is sad. Your competitors are already servicing larger markets and out pacing you, I think all of you at sprint sould really rethink your strategies for deployment of new technologies. I mean you offered a 4G capable phone to the market before you even had it available, congrats on that fail. So for those of you who have Sprint and tell me you have 4G, well youre half right, you do have a version of 4G called WiMax and in the grand scheme of things it was a nice temporary solution, but seriously when you provide a service to multiple markets and then simply stop pushing it out anywhere else did you not think people would leave your services. Change is the only constant and people want the newest and best tech they can get, stay on top of the game sprint, you already lost Nextel and there is no need to lose that customer base and a majority of yours in less than 2 years.
I cant comment on T-Mobile too much, but I do know that they are pushing out 4G LTE to select markets too, and plan to expand on that to larger numbers before the end of Q4 in 2013.
Oh yeah, with a little known search engine *cough* google *cough* I got this info.
Its an interesting read from time to time.
This blog had a bit of a sarcastic tone to it, but I think it fit pretty well considering the topic of dscussion.
